We started by adding on to our existing garden. We cut a bed which was 10 x 10. After removing all the grass and roto-tilling the dirt, we added a brick border to hold the new loam.
With 4 yards of loam delivered, we split the new soil between the four beds. Jeff roto-tilled the new top cover with the old dirt, creating depth and nutrients for the plants.
Everything was now ready for planting. With numerous tomatoes, peppers, eggplant, zucchini and summer squash, we had quite a bit of work ahead of us!
With part of the garden planted, we still had a bed available for new seed plantings. Three kinds of green beans and cucumbers had plenty of room to grow with the new addition.
The tomato stakes and cages are now in place and this garden is ready to grow, grow, GROW!
Finally, the point of view of our scarecrow. He is doing double duty as he normally stands in the front yard for Halloween. Remember, if you don't have the room (or the time and energy) to grow a garden. Check out Container Gardens at Friends Food Review.
